I recently started taking part in karaoke evenings and I must say it is a lot of fun. To anyone who has not heard of karaoke it is a form of user participation entertainment whereby the audience are the stars and can go on stage and sing along with backing tracks of well known songs.

If you feel you could not possibly do that because you would be too embarassed to go on stage and sing karaoke then think again. It is an accepted fact that not all the singers will be good. Some will be dreadful and some will be good but everybody takes part just the same and nobody puts you down because your singing is not too good. It is all part of the fun of kareoke.

By the way, some people seem to spell it Kareoke with an ‘e’ and that is how most westerners seem to saythe word but the proper spelling seems to be with an ‘a’ as in Karaoke. Karaoke originates from Japan and so does the word.
